DIGIFLAG® IMPROVES THE 3rd MILLENIUM TRACK SAFETY


We are very proud to present you the new system now available for all the racing tracks with plenty of  devices to fulfil and customise all your present and future needs.

The DigiFlag® System has been conceived and patented by Valerio Maioli and it is, currently, the only electronic flag system approved. Besides, it is the only available system capable to manage all the flags, including striped flags and black flags. What’s more, it can control the LEDs Display Panels brightness in real-time and be completed with the starting light systems allowing fully integration among the race track control systems.

The ultimate DigiFlag® resulted from the increasing demand of safety at all levels.

It is available both for definitive or temporary installations and it is offered in sale or lease arrangement.

DigiFlag® is conceived with an user friendly software that includes an auto-diagnostic routine and offers a remote management service package, a real innovative solution.

The main characteristic of this system is the capability to work either as in a stand-alone solution or as in an integrated solution with others systems installed on the tracks (for example Starting Lights Systems).

 

DIGIFLAG LED PANEL

We designed and developed a Led panel suitable to replace the flag signal currently used during racing.

 

Flags may be motionless or waved in the following colours:

•Red

•Yellow

•Yellow with Red stripes

•Blue

•White

•Green

•Safety Car

 

The Panel is designed in order to have high sunlight readability and to allow 3 fine regulations on 3 axes.

The Black Flag Panel is realised with a special Graphic Display able to represent the 3 black Flags:

•Black Flag

•Black with Orange dot Flag

•Black and White Flag

The panel will be installed on the start/finishing line bridge thanks to special steel supports. The Black Flag Panel, thanks to its graphic display, can show many other information like drive through or penalty and information to the drivers.

The Marshals’ Control Box permits the Marshals to choose the flag on their Post and to watch what happens in the Previous and in the Followings Posts.

 

On the left side there are the signal buttons:

•Waved Blue

•Waved White

•Waved Green

•Stationary Green

•Safety Car/Waved Yellow Flag

 

On the right side there are the hazard signaling buttons:

Both the Safety Car and the Red Flags are operative only if the system, for any reason, isn’t connected to the Race Control Room Server (function configurable as desired via software).

SOFTWARE

Our SW is very intuitive and easy to use. The Clerk of the Course can decide if he wishes to use it in a semi-automatic or in a manual way. Semi-automatic means that some actions will be performed automatically by the system. For example, if a Marshal chooses the Double waved Yellow Flag, the system automatically will put in the Previous Post a Single Yellow waved flag and in the Following Post a waved Green Flag.

The system is fully configurable on parameters like the waving base frequency, the double waving frequency, the way in which the flags will flash and be displayed. Another configurable parameter is the level of brightness, typically available in three levels:

 

- Day Race

- Night Race

- Wet Race

 

All the operations are saved on a database, available in real time or after events, and also exportable in SQL format.

NEWS

ABU DHABI F1GP 1.11.2009

The DigiFlag® system installed by us at Abu Dhabi on behalf of PKE (that took care of all innovative and technological aspects of the Yas Island Autodrome) obtained a remarkable success and important acknowledgments from Mr. Charlie Whiting, in charge of F1 safety on behalf of FIA. The Digiflag® was used during trial sessions and official races of F1 as well as of minor formulas such as GP2, Porsche,etc. The Abu Dhabi track was the first permanent autodrome to install and use the luminous flags instead of the traditional ones.

 


SINGAPORE F1 GP 28.09.2008

The DigiFlag® system installed by us was used for the first time during the F1 night race at Singapore on 28 September 2008. The system was conceived and realised by us from 1992 onwards and was utilised in the first ever night race in F1 history.
